More than 66 percent of ballots counted, Netanyahu's bloc at 56 seats Over 66 percent of ballot boxes in Israel have been counted as of 9.20am local time (7.20 GMT), with partial results published by the Central Elections Committee showing Benjamin Netanyahu's bloc leading by 56 seats. However, the Israeli prime minister still falls short of the 61 seats required for majority vote. Following after him is 48 seats to the bloc led by Yashar’s Gadi Eisenkot, and Palestinian-led parties at 16 seats.

French Senate Passes Bill to Make Protesters Pay for Unrest Damage
The French parliament's upper house passed a bill Wednesday that would make protesters financially liable for damage caused during street demonstrations, despite warnings from critics that it could curb the right to protest. The bill was drafted in response to riots that followed Paris Saint-Germain's victory over Arsenal in the UEFA Champions League final in May.
